About Us
A small house, kept deliberately small. We began with a simple frustration — good cloth was easy to find, and honest tailoring was not. We put both on the same table.
Our story
Cloth chosen for how it wears, not how it photographs
We work out of a studio in Bangalore with a short bench of tailors and a shorter list of cloths. Every kurta is cut after it is ordered, from a pattern drafted for one person.
That means we make fewer pieces than a factory would in an afternoon. It also means the shoulder sits where it should, the placket lies flat, and the garment still looks right after a summer of wear and washing.
The House of Malik is operated by AI Incorporation, and everything we sell is made in India.
What we hold to
Four working rules
Natural fibres only
Cotton, linen, silk and khadi. Nothing blended in to cut cost or speed up a run, whether the piece is readymade or made for you.
One pattern per person
Custom kurtas are drafted from sixteen measurements. Readymade pieces are cut from the same careful blocks, then finished with the same hand.
Hand-finished seams
Plackets, cuffs and hems are closed by hand so they hold their line through washes — on every garment that leaves the studio.
Made with intention
Custom is cut after it is ordered. Readymade is kept in small runs. Either way, nothing is made only to be marked down later.

A small collection of finished shirts and kurtas in standard sizes, cut from the same natural cloths and finished with the same hand as our custom work.
Custom Kurtas
A kurta drafted from your measurements. Choose the collar, cuff, length, and pocket details, then we cut and finish it for one person only.
The making
From cloth to kurta
A custom kurta moves through six stages. Each one is done by hand, in sequence, with nothing cut before it is bought.

Select from Giza cotton, linen, raw silk, or khadi in a weight that suits your climate.

Visit the studio for a proper measurement, or send your profile through the fit calculator on WhatsApp.
Draft the pattern
Sixteen measurements are turned into a single pattern, made for one person, not graded from a stock block.
Cut & assemble
The cloth is laid, marked, and cut by hand only after the order is confirmed.
Hand-finish
Plackets, cuffs, collars, and hems are closed by hand so they keep their shape through wear.
Press & deliver
The garment is pressed, folded, and packed to reach you in the same condition it left the studio.
